Owner and Affiliates
Sunrider International, a manufacturing, direct selling, and retail sales company, was founded in 1982 by Drs. Tei-Fu and Oi-Lin Chen. All five of Drs. Chen’s adult children hold senior executive positions within the multi-generational family-owned company, either directly at the corporate headquarters or on the Board of Directors. Their passion for people led them to create proven herbal products that help others achieve optimal health and wellness, and a business opportunity that offers them the freedom to live happier, more balanced lives. Guided by owner expertise, Sunrider is a growing global direct-selling enterprise that currently spans nearly 50 countries.
Sunrider owns and operates a hotel chain called Sunworld Dynasty, having acquired several hotels in Asia. In Beijing, the hotels are the Sunworld Dynasty Hotel (in Wangfujing) and the Sunworld Hotel, located next door. In Taipei, Taiwan, the Sunworld Dynasty Hotel was one of the largest hotels in the city.
In 2015 Sunrider acquired the 297-room SLS Hotel Beverly Hills directly from Sam Nazarian’s SBE group. The hotel is located at 465 S. La Cienega Blvd. Also that year Sunrider acquired the historic St. Ermin’s Hotel in London, England.
In 2022 Sunworld Dynasty Hotel Taipei rebranded itself as ILLUME TAIPEI under the same management team. With a shimmering renovation, ILLUME TAIPEI starts a new journey with the “Full of Care” spirit and expects to bring all guests a brand new experience of “Alive With Light”.
