A Story Born from Serendipity: Taipei Hotel Art Exhibition with a Human Touch
A Taipei hotel art exhibition usually begins with a plan. But this one began with an unexpected encounter between neighbors. Mr. Hsu, General Manager of ILLUME TAIPEI, and Eric Hsueh, a sculptor with decades of experience in France, were both members of their local community committee. Through a casual conversation, they discovered a shared passion for warmth and aesthetics.
That exchange sparked the inspiration for this unique art exhibition at ILLUME TAIPEI. With the support of the hotel’s management and marketing team, five large stainless-steel sculptures were transported from Hsinchu to Taipei and seamlessly integrated into ILLUME TAIPEI’s lobby and corridors. Rather than being enclosed behind glass, the artworks interact with light and the footsteps of travelers – turning everyday movement into a quiet dialogue with art.
A passion where hospitality meets art.

“To me, sculpture is never just about form. It is always about asking questions of existence - and leaving behind traces of a dialogue between human hands and the world.” This philosophy echoes through each piece in the Taipei hotel art exhibition, where sculpture and space form a quiet conversation.
