How Much Is the 2026 Taiwan Travel Subsidy?

For an eligible stay at a participating legal accommodation provider in Taipei or another general area, travelers may receive up to NT$800 for the first night and up to NT$1,200 for a consecutive second night. That means one eligible traveler can receive up to NT$2,000 in total for a qualifying two-night stay.

2026 Weekday Accommodation Subsidy at a Glance

Before choosing your Taipei hotel, start with the essentials. The amount varies between general areas and Taiwan’s offshore islands. The program is designed to encourage weekday travel. Eligible stays are generally from Sunday through Thursday, excluding national holidays and their consecutive holiday periods. Travelers who use the first-night subsidy but do not stay on a consecutive second night are considered to have waived the second-night amount.

How to Apply for the 2026 Taiwan Hotel Subsidy

Planning ahead makes the process easier. Registration for the weekday accommodation program opened on 20 August 2026, ahead of the program’s official start on 01 September. Follow these four steps before your trip.

Step 1 — Complete Your Registration

Register your personal information through the official platform designated by Taiwan’s Tourism Administration. Completing registration prepares your information for verification, but it does not reserve or guarantee subsidy funds. Availability still depends on successful verification and the remaining program budget.

Step 2 — Choose a Participating Legal Accommodation Provider

The subsidy applies only to legal accommodation providers participating in the program. Before making a non-refundable reservation, check the latest official participating-accommodation information and confirm that the hotel and booking method you intend to use meet the subsidy requirements.

Step 3 — Plan an Eligible Weekday Stay

For the weekday subsidy, eligible nights generally fall between Sunday and Thursday, excluding national holidays and their consecutive holiday periods. If you want to use the higher second-night subsidy, your second stay date must immediately follow the first. The two nights do not necessarily have to be spent at the same participating hotel.

Step 4 — Present Your Identification at Check-In

The eligible applicant must personally stay at the accommodation and complete the required identity verification at check-in. Bring an accepted identification document, such as the documentation specified by the official program, and allow the accommodation provider to complete the subsidy verification process.

Why Plan a Weekday Taipei Getaway in Autumn 2026?

Taipei feels different when the weekday rhythm softens. Morning light settles over tree-lined streets, cafés ease into the day, and there is more room to explore the city without rushing from one stop to the next.

From September through November, a two- or three-day city stay can be shaped around what matters most to you: a long-awaited concert, a major sporting event, an unhurried meal, a family break, or simply a change of scene.

Located in Songshan District, ILLUME TAIPEI offers a convenient base for discovering the city. Taipei Arena is nearby, while Taipei Dome, shopping districts, dining neighborhoods and other city experiences can be reached easily. At the end of the day, return to a space designed for comfort, ease and thoughtful hospitality.

Rather than choosing a hotel offer by price alone, begin with the kind of Taipei trip you would like to experience.

Choose a Taipei Stay That Matches Your Travel Style

One city, many reasons to arrive. Whether Taipei is calling you for a live event, a leisurely dining escape or an easy journey by high speed rail, choose the stay that fits the rhythm of your trip.

How to Plan a 3-Day, 2-Night Weekday Taipei Trip

The 2026 subsidy structure naturally suits a three-day, two-night itinerary. With two consecutive weekday nights, you can settle into the city rather than treating Taipei as a list of stops to complete.

Day 1 — Arrive and Ease into Taipei

Take the THSR north and continue into central Taipei, leaving enough time to check in without rushing.

After settling into ILLUME TAIPEI, follow the city at a gentler pace. Walk through Songshan District, explore nearby shopping and dining streets, or simply leave the evening open.

If dining is part of the journey, the Double Delight Dine & Stay package lets you arrange a Sunny Buffet meal as part of your hotel experience, subject to the package’s meal-period rules.

Day 2 — Explore the City at Your Own Pace

Begin with breakfast, then shape the day around your own reason for visiting.

For event travelers, spend the afternoon around Taipei Arena or continue toward the
Taipei Dome area before an evening performance or game.

For a slower city escape, explore Songshan’s local streets, creative spaces, cafés and shopping districts. Return when you are ready—not because the itinerary says you must.

Day 3 — A Slow Morning Before Heading Home

Let the final morning unfold gradually.

Enjoy breakfast, take a short walk, or simply spend a little more time in your room before departure. If you are returning home by high speed rail, an eligible THSR hotel ticket can keep accommodation and intercity transport within one coordinated booking journey.

The value of a weekday getaway is not only what you save. It is the space to experience Taipei with fewer transitions, more flexibility and time that feels genuinely your own.

Important: Check Subsidy Eligibility Before Booking

The 2026 weekday accommodation subsidy is a government program with its own eligibility, verification and budget requirements. A hotel offer does not automatically mean that the reservation qualifies for the subsidy. Before confirming your stay, verify: (1) whether the accommodation provider is listed as participating in the government program; (2) whether your selected booking channel and rate are eligible; (3) whether your dates fall within the qualifying period; and (4) whether your selected ILLUME TAIPEI offer may be used together with the government subsidy. Budget Notice: Subsidies are subject to available government funding and may end early if the allocated budget is exhausted.
