The Simplest MRT Route

From there, return to ILLUME TAIPEI on foot. Because both stations are on the same line, there is no need to navigate an interchange during the busiest part of the evening.
Avoid the First Dispersal Wave
Expanded traffic controls are scheduled from approximately 20:15 as visitors begin leaving the venue. Pedestrian routes may also be redirected according to crowd conditions.
Rather than moving immediately into the densest queue, continue calmly towards the outer Dihua area. Once the first surge has eased, proceed to Beimen Station.
Do Not Arrange a Wharf-Side Taxi Pick-Up
Road access, parking and stopping restrictions will make vehicle collection beside the venue difficult. Taxi demand is also likely to rise sharply after the fireworks.
Where a taxi is necessary, leave the controlled district first and choose a legal, clearly accessible pick-up point away from the riverfront.
Traffic Controls on 15 August 2026

City roads: General controls are scheduled from 19:00 to 23:00, with vehicles permitted to leave but restricted from entering parts of the area. Do not plan to drive directly to Dadaocheng.
Expanded dispersal control: From approximately 20:15 to 23:00, additional controls apply around Chengde Road and Minsheng West Road, with buses redirected. Walking routes and bus services may change after the show.
Floodgates: Floodgates 3–5 allow vehicles to leave but not enter from 06:00 to 15:30. Vehicle access through floodgates 1–6 is prohibited from 15:30 to 23:00. Public transport and pedestrian access are preferable.
Riverside parking: Parking between floodgates 3 and 5 is cleared from 12:00 on 14 August until midnight on 15 August. Do not depend on riverside parking.
Surrounding street parking: Selected spaces and temporary stopping areas are suspended from 10:00 to 23:00. Taxi collection and private-car drop-off will be difficult.
Pedestrian bridges: Pedestrian access on Taipei Bridge and Zhongxiao Bridge is restricted from 19:30 to 20:30. These bridges should not be used as alternative viewing or walking routes during the show.
Y27 exit: Taipei City Mall Y27 exit is under two-way control from 18:00 to 22:00. Follow station staff instructions when using underground routes.
Bicycles: Bicycles may leave but not enter through floodgates 1–6 from 06:00 to 15:30; bicycle access is prohibited from 15:30 to 23:00, including walking a bicycle. Do not use a bicycle as the evening return plan.
YouBike: Dadaocheng Wharf station is suspended from 15:00 to 23:00. Eleven additional nearby stations are suspended from 17:00 to 23:00. Bike availability around Beimen and Dadaocheng will be limited.
Buses: Routes and stops around Dadaocheng Wharf, Yanping Temple and Dihua Street are adjusted or suspended. MRT is more predictable than bus travel during the event.
Water access: A safety zone is enforced around the fireworks launch area from 17:00 to 22:00. Follow all barriers and staff instructions near the river.
